The College Prep Program promotes college readiness for high school-aged youth in SoMa. We provide holistic, culturally sensitive enrichment support, ancillary academic support service workshops, social, emotional & culturally sensitive support workshops, financial literacy workshops, professional, career, and leadership development opportunities & college field trips.
To help alleviate the financial barrier, students who complete all grade level requirements and attend workshops can receive up to $1000 in their college savings account.
Over the years, our youth have become students at UC Santa Cruz, Stanford, Sonoma State University, Academy Of Art University, San Francisco State University, San Jose State University, Cal State University Monterey Bay, Pomona College, UCLA & City College of San Francisco.
West Bay’s Kuya Ate Summer Employment Program (KASE) provides 10 high school youth and young adults with summer employment opportunities working either with K-8 youth, supporting after-school program coordinators, or completing administrative tasks with administrative professionals. In addition to working 20 hours per week, KASE youth also participate in weekly workshops where topics include financial literacy, professional, career, and leadership development, as well as job readiness, and social, emotional, and cultural support.
